How Mya works

Last updated: 18 September 2026

Getting started

Mya is a personal assistant that notes down whatever you tell her. No forms to fill in, no dates to pick from menus: you type or dictate as you'd talk to a person, and she handles the rest — date, time, category, reminder.

The app has two sides. On the chat side you talk to Mya. On the agenda side you see and edit everything by hand, if you prefer. On a computer they sit side by side; on the phone you switch between them with the Mya and Agenda buttons at the bottom.

Your first minute: tell her your name ("my name is Ana") and note your first thing ("dentist on Tuesday at 3:30pm"). From then on she calls you by name and remembers what you tell her.

Talking to Mya

Write however feels natural. All of these work:

After each request, Mya shows below her reply exactly what she noted, and there's always an Undo if she got it wrong.

She understands everyday language: "next week", "next Friday", "in a fortnight". If something essential is missing — usually the date — she asks before noting anything.

What she remembers

Mya builds up a memory of your life as you tell her things: the names of people in your family, your children's school, your doctor, the places you go, how you like things noted. That's what lets her understand short sentences — when you say "my mum" or "the usual dentist", she knows who you mean.

You can tell her directly what to keep ("just so you know, Adrian goes to Padre João Coelho Cabanita school") and what to forget ("forget that the dentist is on X Street").

The conversation is saved, so you can close the app and pick up later where you left off. Pro keeps the full history; Basic keeps the recent conversations.

Dictating by voice

The microphone button lets you dictate instead of typing. Tap once to start, speak, tap again to stop. The text stays in the box for you to read before sending — it only goes when you press send.

Acronyms and proper names: phone speech recognition always tries to fit known words, so "Cap IAD" may come out as something else entirely. Two ways around it: dictate letter by letter ("see ay pee, eye ay dee"), or let it come out wrong and fix the text before sending.

If it's still wrong, just type the correct acronym next — Mya understands it's a correction to the last thing noted and fixes it.

In Settings you can also turn on spoken replies, so she reads her answers out loud — handy when you're driving or your hands are busy.

Sending photos

The clip next to the text box sends images. Mya reads what's in the photo and notes it:

If the photo is sideways — a landscape sheet photographed upright — use the ⟳ button next to the thumbnail until it's the right way up. It's the difference between reading it properly and muddling the columns.

Images are part of the Pro plan.

School timetables and activities

A school timetable is not like an event: it repeats every week. So Mya keeps it as a block of its own, shown below your own entries for the day, instead of filling your agenda with events.

Photograph the timetable (the right way up!) and send it. She reads the classes, rooms and times, and tells you how many classes she counted per day so you can check. If it's a child's, give her the name: "this is Adrian's timetable".

After that you correct it in words, without touching the rest: "Wednesday at 10:25 is Art", "add swimming on Tuesday at 5:45pm", "delete Adrian's timetable".

After-school activities — clubs, training, music, tutoring — go into the same block, on the right day.

Inside the agenda

The agenda has these views: Day, Week, Month, Year and Upcoming (everything ahead, in order). On the phone, the More menu opens the rest: special dates, to-do, lists, notes, post-its and contacts.

On the phone you can swipe left or right to jump month, week or day. The ▾ arrow on each card opens its comment and subtasks.

Categories give each entry its colour (Work, Personal, Family, Finances, Health, Home, Other). You can rename them, recolour them and create your own in Settings.

Plans, messages and limits

Every account starts with 14 days of Mya Pro free, no card needed.

A message is each thing you say to Mya — noting an appointment, asking what's on today, adding to a list. When they run out you can still see and edit everything by hand, without limit; only the chat waits for next month, or you change plan.

In Settings, under "Your account", you'll find your plan, when the trial ends and how many messages you have left this month.

Your account and your data

You sign in with email and password or with your Google account. If you forget the password, "Forgot my password" sends you a link; the eye next to the field shows what you're typing.

In Settings you can change your password, the name Mya calls you, the assistant's own name, the language, the theme (dark, light, sand or pink) and your billing details.

Your data is yours and stays in Europe. Only you see what you note. You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, in Settings → Your account → Delete my account.

Common questions

Mya got it wrong. Now what? Press Undo right below her reply, or tell her what's wrong ("it's not 3pm, it's 5pm"). She fixes it without touching the rest.

Can I use it on phone and computer? Yes, with the same account, and everything stays in sync. On the phone you can install the app from the browser ("Add to Home Screen") and it gets its own icon.

Does it work offline? The agenda opens and you can read what's there; talking to Mya needs a connection.

Can more than one person use it? Each account is personal and private. For a family, each person has their own.

Where do I ask for help? ola@myapersonal.com — we reply on working days.
